Slippers, Sandals, and Other Non-Rubber Footwear:

Our footwear is made from high quality materials and textiles. To clean a non-rubber item, we recommend gently spot-cleaning with a lightly damp cloth. For detailed information on specific items, please reach out to our customer service team!

Rubber Boots:

Did you know rubber comes from trees? The process of making handmade boots involves mixing limestone and rubber to give the footwear its form. It’s natural for quality rubber to develop a white film, called blooming, and it’s easy to clean.

Fourth Generation

Family Owned

Founded in 1891, Washington Shoe Company began making boots to hold up against tough weather conditions during the Alaska Gold Rush. Today, the legacy lives on.

Western Chief believes in creating smiles through our quality, lovable, whimsical and functional products.

Our Quest for

Giving Back

In 2016, wanting to make an impact in the community, the Moehring family launched the non-profit Wear A Big Smile® Foundation. Western Chief proudly supports the Foundation which donates boots to people in need throughout our local community.

As of 2024, the Wear A Big Smile® Foundation has donated over 50,000 pairs of brand new boots and 2,600 raincoats to families in need throughout the greater Seattle area.
