There's always more than enough treats to go around this time of year. While we all enjoy eating them, half the joy is found in making them! Take time to bake and decorate some cookies this season. It can be surprisingly relaxing in the midst of the holiday hustle and bustle and it's cheaper than retail therapy!

Wishing you good tidings with this treat!

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

Combine sugar and butter. Add egg and vanilla. Mix all ingredients together.

Roll out dough to desired thickness using powdered sugar to prevent sticking. Cut out your shapes and place them on ungreased baking sheet.

Bake 7 to 10 minutes or until edges start to brown.

Allow to cool before decorating.
